Phyn Pilot MissionS

Phyn is a work in progress - and we can only improve our product with your help.

Outlined below are two experiments designed to teach our system about your plumbing in order to improve our leak detection and consumption algorithms.  You can do them at any time during the pilot, and you can do them as often as you like.

Mission 1 - Slow Leak Detection

This simple experiment requires you to run a kitchen and bathroom faucet at a very low flow (just above a drip) for 12 minutes. During this time you will fill a measuring cup and submit how many ounces you collected.

Duration: 24 minutes active, 20 minutes pause between actions

Mission 2 - Simple and Compound Events

This experiment takes some concentration! You will turn on fixtures in your bathroom and kitchen to provide us with "signatures" of individual faucets, showers, baths and toilets.  Then you will turn on multiple fixtures in multiple rooms to create "compound events". This uses a lot of water - we suggest you grab a bucket and water your garden when you are done.

Duration: 25 minutes
