If your Phyn device is unable to see your network SSID in the list of available Wi-Fi networks that is an indication that one these conditions may exist:The wireless network is down or offlineThe wireless router is online but needs to be rebootedThe network administrator has disabled SSID broadcast in the router settings
Android – Follow these instructions to setup your Phyn Account and Pair your Phyn Plus device to the NetworkTo begin the process, your device must be put into Pairing mode. You must first perform a Hard Reset to restore the device to factory settings. After the hard reset, the device will be in Pairing mode.
The Phyn Plus will work with any Wi-Fi router that uses the 2.4GHz band and that can be configured to use either of these two security profiles:WPA2 Personal (aka WPA2-PSK, PSK2, WPA2-PSK (AES only ? not TKIP), WPA2-PSK/AES)WPA/WPA2 Personal (aka WPA/WPA2 Mixed mode, WPA/WPA2 PSK, WPA/WPA2 (TKIP/AES), PSK2-Mixed)
When changes are made to the Home Wi-Fi network, i.e. Network Password changed, Network Name (SSID) changed, Wi-Fi security Profile changed, etc. the Phyn Plus device will no longer be able to connect to the network. In the Phyn App, the device status will show “Offline”.The Phyn Plus device must be cleared of it’s old settings through a device reset and reconnected to the Phyn App and the Wireless Network.Follow these steps to reset the Phyn Plus device and reconnect it to the Phyn App and the wireless network.
For security purposes, only the ESN is printed on the Phyn Plus device. The ESN and the MAC Address of the Phyn Plus are printed on a label attached to the blue envelope containing the Phyn Plus Homeowner guide.Note: If you cannot locate the envelope with the printed MAC address, you must disable MAC Address filtering on the router to complete the Phyn Plus device setup process.
Phyn sends Malfunctioning PRV alerts when there is a PRV (Pressure Reducing Valve) present at the home, and the pressure is unstable. Pressure Reducing Valves stabilize the pressure in a home. If the pressure is increasing and decreasing out of an acceptable range, your PRV is likely malfunctioning.When Phyn detects that your PRV is malfunctioning, you will receive the Malfunctioning PRV alert. Just tap on the alert to view guidance on how to proceed.
