The Phyn Plus will work with any Wi-Fi router that uses the 2.4GHz band and that can be configured to use either of these security profiles:
- WEP – Works, but not recommended – Networks using WEP can be easily hacked – See below
- WPA2 Personal (aka WPA2-PSK, PSK2, WPA2-PSK (AES only – not TKIP), WPA2-PSK/AES)
- WPA/WPA2 Personal (aka WPA/WPA2 Mixed mode, WPA/WPA2 PSK, WPA/WPA2 (TKIP/AES), PSK2-Mixed)
If the Wi-Fi router is configured as “Open” (no security) or to use another security profile such as WPA, the Phyn device will not work.
Note: The Wi-Fi Security Alliance highly recommends that WEP or WPA security protocol users update to either WPA2 Personal or WPA/WPA2 Personal (Mixed mode).
